14th and Final Post

This reading does not finish the book. To begin this reading they are trying to get into the hotel. A boy about Jace's age comes and warns them not to go in, his brother was in group that went in and never came out. The boy, Raphael, wants to go with them, but they tell him no. He shows them the way in anyway. Jace goes first, then Clary has to jump and Jace has to catch her. Raphael follows anyway, and now they are stuck with him. Inside only one group of steps is unharmed and it is all torn up inside. Raphael seems to know a lot about the place and vampires. Clary notices a scar on "the base of his throat". Raphael screams and disappears, but they find him. Jace throws his knife at Raphael and stabs him. Raphael turns out to be a vampire and called the other vampires, who were now on the stairs. They decide to offer a deal to the vampires. They won't kill Raphael, the leader, if the vampires give them back Simon. The deal doesn't go through, and the vampires talk of hearing that Valentine is back. Clary gets fed up with waiting and dives for Simon, who is still in his rat form. Now there is a problem. They fight and the vampires are told to kill them all. Lily, a vampire, attacks and Jace fends her off. Clary gets ready to fight with a dagger. Then, wolves come crashing in through the windows, Jace agrees that now it's bad.

I think that this was a very good book. I think that Raphael was a very interesting character because he did a very good job of deceiving them. I liked the vampire lair. It was very mysterious. It had that feeling to it that you don't know what will be around the corner. I was able to tell something was up when Raphael knew all that stuff about the vampires and their lair. I thought that he had either been in there before, or he was a vampire. He turned out to be a vampire. The book hit another exciting point when Clary offered the trade of Raphael and Simon. I was surprised when Clary went after Simon. I thought she was just going to sit back and wait, but apparently not. I thought that the fight was interesting enough, but then the wolves show up. I don't know how the fight is going to turn out now. I'm very interested to see what happens. I am definitely going to finish this book.
